• Camp Nurse, Headfirst Professional Sports Camps - Residential Experience: 2019-2021

  • The Position:

The Camp Nurse at Headfirst Professional Sports Camps Residential Experience acts as the primary on-site resource for any and all matters related to the safety and well-being of both Headfirst Professional Sports Camps campers and staff. The Camp Nurse supervises and ensures the day-to-day safety of all program participants; safety is Headfirst Professional Sports Camps’ foremost concern, and the Camp Nurse must always prioritize safety above all else. This program will offer three weeks of Headfirst Professional Sports Camp curriculum through four of our Professional Sports Camps partners. Our residential team will travel to Chicago, Washington D.C, and Boston over the three week period to operate this once in a lifetime residential experience. With this being a residential position, we ask that our Camp Nurse live on site at each of our partner facilities from July 9th – July 26th. We offer room and board, transportation to each new location, meals, and competitive salary.

    The Work:

    • Live and Breathe Safety. Camp will not operate unless we have put the safety and well-being of our campers, their families, and team members as the number one priority. We would be naïve to believe injuries don’t happen at camp. You will work to identify and resolve all safety-related issues and injuries on site. Camp Nurses act as the first responder in both low and high priority emergency medical situations, utilizing your CPR/First Aid training as necessary.
    • Maintain Wellness. We care deeply about the wellness of our campers. Our Camp Nurse will monitor the health and welfare of all campers while taking personal responsibility for the collection, proper handling, and distribution of medication throughout the residential experience.
    • Build Relationships. You serve as the main point of contact for everything medical related while campers are in our care. The Camp Nurse will take the responsibility for communicating with all necessary parties to ensure all pertinent safety/medical information is relayed appropriately while exercising professional discretion to ensure PPI and PHI is provided solely on a need-to-know basis.
    • Handle the Curveballs. At Headfirst we believe obstacles are temporary and embrace any challenge as an opportunity to improve. As a leader of this team, you will have to quickly think on your feet and be able to deviate from your initial plan while maintaining the safety of our campers as your number one priority.

    The Requirements:

    • About You:
      • At least 21 years of age
      • Valid license as a professional Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
      • Certificate or diploma from an accredited nursing or training program
      • CPR & First Aid certified; Basic Life Support (BLS), Automated External Defibrillator and First Responder certifications.
    • You are:
      • Organized. You are crazy about the details and strive to keep everything in order. You can prioritize and multi-task, managing several projects concurrently, sometimes under pressure.
      • Highly Motivated. A self-starter who approaches professional hurdles with a strong sense of individual responsibility and a sincere emphasis on team over self.
      • A Coachable Teammate. You are a down-to-earth individual who has the desire and capacity to grow through self-reflection, and by both providing and receiving performance feedback.
      • A Leader Through Action. Always doing the right thing is how we conduct business. You are a vocal, energetic, and enthusiastic leader who possesses the charisma, passion, and polish to serve as an ambassador of The Headfirst Companies.
