Camp Experience Coordinator, Cubs Baseball Summer Camps: 2024-3248


The Position

Chicago Cubs Baseball Summer Camps offer five days of fun, baseball instruction, and competition for children ages 5-13 through our custom-built curriculum. We are looking for a Camp Experience Coordinator to join our on-site leadership team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the physical, social, and emotional well-being of all campers. Additionally, you will manage on-site communications for Cubs Baseball Summer Camps, serving as the primary point of contact for all email, phone, and in-person interactions related to the on-site camp experience. We provide the training, resources and equipment for a successful and safe camp but need you to bring your knowledge, expertise, enthusiasm, leadership and dedication to our campers, their families and the Cubs brand to camp each day.


What You'll Do

  • Oversee the safety of all program participants and staff, ensuring adherence to camp safety protocols and managing camper behavior to promote both physical and emotional well-being.
  • Manage family accounts, tracking communications, requests, inquiries, and enrollments through camp databases.
  • Communicate efficiently with families regarding their camper’s health, safety, and overall experience.
  • Act swiftly to problem-solve, anticipating how details may impact campers' experiences.
  • Collaborate effectively with on-site leadership and the Headquarters Team to ensure the delivery of first-class customer service.
  • Professionally represent the Chicago Cubs to campers, parents, site partners, and guests.
  • Act as the first responder for safety issues and injuries, utilizing CPR/First Aid training as needed.
  • Prepare individual care plans based on medication and allergy reports.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Site Leader or Headquarters Team.


About You

  • 3+ years of relevant knowledge and skills from an accredited undergraduate institution or equivalent experience in the sports, camp, or education field. Majors in education, communications, athletic training, sports management viewed favorably.
  • Strong customer service skills and enjoy working with children and families, with experience in athletics, camp, or educational settings being a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively manage relationships with campers, families, and team members.
  • Strong understanding of safety and first aid within a camp environment.
  • Possess or able to obtain valid CPR/First Aid Certification prior to the start of camp.
  • Enthusiastic about delivering top-quality programming and brand presentation, making a positive impact on the lives of children, families, and coaches.
  • Ability to remain standing for extended periods, walk or run quickly across large outdoor fields, and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. of sports equipment.
  • Committed to upholding the Cubs Camp Cell Phone-Free policy, ensuring phones are powered down and stored away during shifts.

Additional Camp Information

  • Time Commitment: Available for pre-camp training and all weeks of programming.
  • Camp Dates & Locations: June 9th – August 15th, no camp the week of July 4th

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • Compensation: $18 / hour, with up to 2.5 hours of overtime per week paid at $27/hour.
