Baseball Operations Coordinator, Cubs Baseball Summer Camps: 2024-3253


The Position

Cubs Baseball Summer Camps offer five days of fun, baseball instruction, and competition for all children ages 5-13, built around our custom curriculum. We are seeking a Baseball Operations Coordinator to lead on-field activities, ensuring effective and quality implementation of our baseball curriculum. This includes managing equipment, overseeing field setup, and preparing and supporting coaches through curriculum implementation, all while maintaining the physical, social, and emotional safety of campers and staff. Your leadership will help create a high-quality camp experience that embodies the Chicago Cubs brand and values. We’ll provide the training, resources, and equipment—you bring your baseball knowledge, enthusiasm, and leadership to make it all come together.


What You'll Do

  • Study, prepare for, and lead the implementation of our baseball curriculum through guiding and supporting the coaching staff.
  • Serve as the go-to resource for any curriculum-related questions or issues, providing coaches support for any adaptations needed to enhance each team and individual’s experience.
  • Oversee daily operational setup and breakdown to ensure a safe, functional camp environment.
  • Maintain and organize the storage trailer, keeping track of supplies, equipment, and camper uniforms.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to ensure a clean, organized camp setup that positively represents the Cubs brand.
  • Communicate effectively with the Site Leader on program updates, challenges, and successes.
  • Represent the Cubs professionally and respectfully to campers, parents, site partners, and guests.
  • Be a reliable, dedicated team member who consistently shows up on time and ready to work.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Site Leader.


About You

  • 3+ years of experience playing and/or coaching baseball and/or softball at a competitive level (travel ball, high school, college and beyond - viewed favorably).
  • Deep understanding and passion for baseball, including knowledge of rules, fundamentals and coaching techniques.
  • Experience working with children in a sports, camp, or education setting.
  • Committed to making a positive impact in the lives of children and families through baseball.
  • Dedicated to the camp’s mission, program quality, and a supportive team environment for the full camp season.
  • Possess or able to obtain valid CPR/First Aid Certification prior to the start of camp.
  • Able to stand and be active for long periods, move quickly across fields, and lift/carry up to 50 lbs. of equipment.
  • Committed to adhering to the Cubs Camp Cell-Phone Free policy, powering down and putting away cell phones for the duration of your shift.

Additional Camp Information

  • Time Commitment: Available for pre-camp training and all weeks of programming.
  • Camp Dates & Locations: June 9th – August 15th, no camp the week of July 4th

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:15 am-3:45 pm
  • Compensation: $18 / hour with up to 2.5 hours of overtime per week paid at $27/hour
